Lauren Boebert Acknowledges She Didn’t Uphold Her Values Following Beetlejuice Groping

Lauren Boebert, the US congresswoman, has issued an apology following her removal from a performance of the musical Beetlejuice in Denver due to inappropriate behavior, an incident she described as “challenging and humbling.”

Boebert, a Republican representative for Colorado, and a male companion with her were expelled from the show on September 10 for vaping, recording videos, and causing disruptions during the Sunday performance. Video footage also captured them engaging in inappropriate physical contact while seated.

Initially, Boebert and her campaign manager denied vaping and claimed she was removed for being too loud. However, surveillance video obtained by Denver television station 9News clearly showed the congresswoman openly vaping during the performance. Theater ushers attempted to address this prohibited action with her on multiple occasions, as confirmed by two sources.

Reportedly, a pregnant woman approached Boebert and requested that she cease vaping, but Boebert refused. The unnamed woman remarked to the New York Post, “These people in front of us were outrageous.

“I’ve never witnessed such behavior before,”

The CCTV footage also depicted Boebert’s companion fondling her breasts after they were seated, and Boebert was observed engaging in inappropriate behavior with her companion during the event.

Boebert and her date were eventually escorted out of the theater by security during the second act due to their ongoing disruptive conduct. The CCTV footage also showed Boebert making an obscene gesture towards theater security as she was being escorted out, which was reported by Business Insider to be a middle finger.

A theater security report stated that Boebert and her companion became argumentative with officials, with the congresswoman allegedly asking, “Do you know who I am?”

Boebert issued an apology for her behavior in a statement on Friday evening, acknowledging the challenges she has been facing during her “public and difficult divorce.”

“Over the past few days, I have encountered difficulties and moments of humility, and I offer my genuine apologies for the unwelcome attention my actions on Sunday evening in Denver have drawn to the community,” Boebert conveyed, as documented by the Colorado Sun.

She went on to explain that her “public and difficult divorce” has created a “challenging personal time” for herself and her family. Boebert had filed for divorce from her husband, Jayson, in May after a lengthy marriage.

Boebert’s disturbance at the musical was initially reported on Tuesday, although she initially attempted to suggest she had been removed from the theater for simply enjoying the performance too much. On Twitter, she humorously claimed she had “pleaded guilty to laughing and singing too loud.”

Lauren Boebert, currently in her second term, is known for her far-right views and controversial statements targeting LGBTQ+ individuals, Muslims, and other marginalized communities. Additionally, it was noted by the LGBTQ+ news outlet, The Advocate, that the man accompanying her to Beetlejuice, Quinn Gallagher, is a Democrat who owns a bar that has hosted LGBTQ+ events and drag performances, which have frequently been criticized by the political right.
